I know I'm biased, but it's hard to beat VR on the FD! Just looks so awesome laid down on those curves....

Good to see a lot of OEM styles still being expressed. Nothing against those who put the wide body stuff or the picnic table wings on the car. Nothing really beats the stock curves.

The Ohlins are wonderful for the couple of years I've had them. Does well on our lovely local terrain, which was considered Lol. I had considered the HKS ones heavily (I run HKS Hipermax on my Supra) but wanted to really take advantage of the FD's balance with these. I think we run the same IRP EFR setup and due for a final tune in the next month. It's been an experience but hopefully soon ! Should see some decent #'s on their Stg 4 option (lightened /balance etc)
The AP Racing BBK is fantastic! I love them! You won't regret it.
I know in these shots it appears I have tinted glass, but I don't. lol It's actually the front windshield sunblocker I have on. From this angle it looks like I'm running limo tint all around! LOL
I've never had any tint on any of my vehicles. I do a fair amount of driving both in the day and nite. Having tint on windows is a real PITA at nite. It's not too bad if it's from the factory, but the aftermarket stuff always bounces the lights from other vehicles weird.

I like the MS lip, running that on my BB and have a spare for my VR which will have MS01 wheels.
I can't even find that many picture with the stock wheels on haha.

Bathurst Special Edition
The "Bathurst" was named after a race course in Australia where the RX7s had a long winning history. It started out as a dealer option package, but was adopted into the main line. It replaced the base model in the last run of Series 8 (Version 6) cars, and was subject to a number of unique trim features and limited runs, which now provide unique opportunities to use parts for OEM plus themed builds. Without realizing it, people have come into possession of Bathurst versions and not understood their uniqueness.
The 95/96 Type R Bathurst X came out in Japan just as sales were winding down in the US of USDM models. It must have stood out in dealer showrooms.
Note the padded centre armrest in the above picture seems to be shaped somewhat differently than the usual version we see. Need to keep an eye out for that.
The limited edition Type R Bathurst R of 2001 came with factory carbon fibre (look) dash and door plastics. I acquired a set of those off a wreck in Cyprus (Carpe Diem seller). It is fairly common to see 2003 Bathursts come up for auction (at considerable premium). These cars were made in 2002, but not sold until 2003. In Japan, a car's "year' is determined by the date it was originally sold. Many of the 2003 Bathurst are very low mileage cars, having been identified as collectors items. Auction prices often rival Spirit R auction results.

I thought you may have noticed my wooden steering wheel. Miata steering wheels of that era can be converted for rx7 use by having two divits cut out at the back of the hub of the wheel. I also have the Miata wood handbrake handle and wood nardi shift ***. The LHD Miata handbrake mounts on the left of the tunnel. So the wood handle had to be moved to a FD handbrake base.
The gunmetal wheels will look very dark in most light, but "pop" in direct sunlight. Recommended for summer tire mounting.

I thought that was a wood wheel, just wasn’t sure as it was kind of dark. You have the Mahogany wood one? Are you running the tear drop ****? I tried the tear drop but it was sitting too high on the C’s shifter, so I sold the set to a gentleman in Toronto.
I’m running the Oakwood one with Nardi logo and Mazda airbag.
The gunmetal wheel is nice, would love to see it in person!

Interior 1960's Luce Rotary.
Is a Miata wheel I bought out of Japan. Not sure if it is mahogany. The shift **** I ordered from Nardi direct. The brake handle I pulled from a wreck in a scrap yard. It was in the seventh car I checked and it just popped of the handle. It was totally decrepit, but my nephew is a cabinetmaker. Got the colour a bit wrong and the installer snapped the wood piece in half, forcing it on the RX7 handle. The three pieces of wood may be a bit much, and I will likely go back to the stock brake. Also the wood wheel goes better with the all black interior (in my opinion), but I was surprised there are many examples of Mazda matching a wood wheel with Recaro red seats, going back as far as the original "Luce" rotary. So I am not off precedent.
The feel of the wood wheel is fantastic. Ditto the shifter. My hands are so dry from sanitizer that the leather wheel and **** feel furry.
The wood **** is only 100 grams compared to the stock **** at 300 grams. I have added some metal collars under the boot to get the shifter back to the correct "throw weight".

The wood does complement the black interior and red seat very well
At first I thought you have this one.
But looks like we both have the Mahogany, I thought mine is Oak but it is the same as your which I believe is Mahogany.
It's extremely hard to color match all 3 pieces, you almost have to get them all from the same car in order for them to match.
This is the set I sold, they came from the same car so they match perfectly, even the shifter from this set does not perfectly match the wheel that is currently on my car. I would've love to keep this wheel as it is in better condition than the one I have, but not really worth breaking up a set, so I sold it to someone who really wanted them to restore his Miata.

Stock curve is the way to go, and definitely stick with the 5 spoke design. I'm ok with the stock wheels, it's a little small to me and I like the more aggressive offset.
I like the MS lip, running that on my BB and have a spare for my VR which will have MS01 wheels.
I can't even find that many picture with the stock wheels on haha.

and I completely agree 5 stars are great on these cars!

There was an MK4 Supra on Bring A Trailer a while back that was running stock wheels with spacers - just enough to bring the wheels out almost flush with the fenders - and it looked really good, better IMO than any aftermarket wheels. I wonder if the same would apply to the FD, though maybe the suspension geometry changes wouldn't be worth it.

I have always thought that compared to the rest of the car, the stock 93-95 wheels fall short in the looks the department. They just don't do the car just justice IMO of course. With that said, I have always been a fan of the stock look + nice drop + a good set of aftermarket wheels.

I'm a little obsess with FN01R-C lol, I have had multiple sets for different cars. I actually drove to Cleveland to pick up the set on the BB even tho the front pair has the wrong offset, but at least I got the 10" rear. I then spent months to find the correct offset pair for the front lol, the MS01 is also hard to get.
