Lightbulb try not to laugh

try to contain yourself as you read this post, but i got a stupid question..

so the situation is that i recked my first gen last weekend, and i am trying to find a new body to transplant the good stuff into. and i thought hell, i have always wanted a third gen anyways..

i am seeing some thirdgens, without motors, for almost in my price range for sale on the board. and i am thinking again , what are the chances of puting my '79 13b (from an rx-4) into it.......

any thoughts

thanks,

Don't take offense, but essentially you want to downgrade the FD?? I don't think that would be wise.. Even if you did, it sounds like you are short on dough and when other things broke on the car you wouldn't have the dough to fix them.. I'd say save for a running FD, or buy one without a motor, and build a 13b TT for it..

Dood, don't.

Its like having a 6 cylinder Camaro, crashing it, then buying an SS shell and sticking the 6 banger in that.

You can probably do it, but we have different trannies than you do to hold the PPF. Your 3rd gen will be pig slow since it weighs more than your 1st gen. Your best bet is trying to find a 1st gen shell. If you DO find a 3rd gen shell, at least build up a 13b-rew engine for it.

I think this a wonderful idea. You are obviously a very creative person and deserve kudos for your imagination and resourcefulness (sp?) My other car is a Porsche with a Briggs and Stratton engine. All my friends think I am a very cool and well aligned person.
