touring vs R1 vs base weight

ive read that the r1 weighs in at 2800 lbs stock and the touring at 2860 lbs or so

SO....what contributes to the extra 60 lbs???
seems like a lot of weight to me for just the sunroof and bose wave tube.....

is there just a TON of sound dampening or something???

still theres gotta be something else....

My touring came with everything...

Here's whats in my car

mudflaps
strut tower bar <--- yes its factory
leather seats
bose tube w/ cd player tape combo
sun roof
foglights
trunk cover
back panel for trunk
rear window wiper w/water tank

I can see how that would add up to 60lbs

ehh......

well lets see....and ill be REALLY generous.....

mudflaps 4 at 2 lbs......8
strut tower bar......most touring didnt come with one
leather seats.....over suede??.....maybe 2lbs
bose tube w/ cd player tape combo.....tube (10)....cd player (3)
sun roof........lets say 30 with the motor and all
foglights........5
trunk cover........r1 had one too
back panel for trunk.....whatre you talking about?
rear window wiper w/water tank.....filled or unfilled
lets go with filled (5).....wiper (2)

that adds up to.....65 lbs

but the R1 had:

strut bar.....-5
thicker roll bars.....-2
twin oil coolers......-2
metal in place of the sunroof....-4

so that puts us back at 52....

i mean.....look at the base model...its lighter than the R1...IT should be the baseline

anyone else wanna try adding it up with more proven values or better info??

I'm guessing, but I think the motor for the rear wiper, plus the wiper, would weigh more than 2 lbs.

Also you didn't add in the extra sound deadening material that's in the touring. You can always use that as your "X" factor to account for the difference.

I am not 100% sure on my opinion here, but I have taken the tube out before, and it felt like a little more than 10lbs. But I could be wrong, I mean when you spread weight out that much, sometimes it feels a little heavier.

dont forget about the cruise control !!!
they also came with a different set of tires...so that could add a few pounds.
