New motor...car won't start!!
I recently just put a reman in my RX-7. Everything is hooked up correctly to my knowledge. The engine will crank continuously for as long as you can hold the key but will not fire up. It has new plugs and wires, new everything. I have yet to install my new fuel pump, but will be doing so soon so I can investigate some more. The battery is fine, there is power in the acc position, but no fireworks. Someone please help!!

As with any car, of any type, that won't run, you check 3 things, in this order.
1) compression. We're sure you're good here, but this is for others' benefit as well. First rule of rotary troubleshooting, compression check. Don't forget that you can flood a rotary and it will imitate low compression. To eliminate this, either inject some atf or motor oil into the engine chambers (via lower plugholes) or simply hold the gas pedal on the floor for a few seconds to unflood.
2) spark. IT is quick and easy to check. one by one, take your plugwires loose, insert a plug into the end, lay it on the frame or beside a ground, and crank the car. Listen for pops/cracks, watch for bluish/white spark that is not intermittent, but rather rhythmic. Repeat for all 4 wires. Don't overlook possibly fouled sparkplugs that are in the engine...even if the wires deliver spark, fouled plugs won't spark internally. Related to spark is ignition timing, but on the FD it is hard to screw that up so we won't worry about it here.
3) fuel. The hardest of the 3 to check for on an EFI rotary. Check to see that the fuel pump comes on, either by checking voltage at the PUMP, or by listening for audible whine when key is turned (hard to do). Next, check to see that your fuel lines are not reversed at the engine...the FPR acts as a one way valve, and if your supply adn return lines are crossed, no fuel can get to the injectors. Verify that fuel comes out of your supply line when the engine is cranked. IF you still think no fuel is getting injected into the engine, you have an electrical issue. The injectors may have a bad connection, the ecu may not be plugged in, a fuse may be bad, etc.

I think RotaryResurrection covered everything that need to be checked...
If you have been cranking for a long while and were low on fuel when you started cranking check to see if you still have fuel....
More than an advise reply this is a reassurring reply... Cuz i was just there 4 days ago... My new engine was also not starting up...After unflooding, some cranking some atf oil... its up and running smooth now...

try spraying starting fluid in the spark plug holes and try to start. If the starting fluid ignites, you should hear it and know either your injectors aren't running or pump isn't running.

ok, im going to try the atf tomorrow, I'll let ya all know how it goes. The fuel lines will be checked after if nothing happens. The thing will crank no problem, just won't even sputter to turn over. Thanks a lot
