ignition coil ohm requirement???

ignition coil ohm requirement???

hey guys. . . i dont really understand what the coils have to read. . . as in. . . im wanting to replace my coils with other higher performance coils. . . all they list is the resistance. . . if i have a coil that tests out at .33 ohms. . . is it gonna cause a problem????

nobody knows if theres a certain resistance to be had?

Coils are rated be volts ,input volts , output and omhs draw . Most motorcycles use .7 , 1.5 or 3 omhs . See if you know who , can find the part number for the Crane ,Harley coil he uses .

wow, i am surprised you didnt just call 615-893-4469 for this one.
OMG i cant believe that i have read a "certain person" post that number so many time that i actualy know it by heart. (i think thats right anyway)....

yeah, thats the right number. . . im just wondering what everyone elses ideas are. the person that owns that phone number has the correct coil for the application, but he cant remember what kind of draw the coil HAS to have in order for it to work properly and not mess up the electrical system. i found some coils im interested in and want to find out if i can use them. . . but thanks for the rather informative response rxrotary2 7. . .

I called the above number yesterday , check this out . Crane cams /Cam Dynamics ,539 Fentress Blvd .Daytona ,FL 32114 . item no 8-3004 dual fire C/D coil . Call them for info . This was bought in 1998 .
