IC fans

I was thinking of getting the M2 medium IC, is it practical or helpful to install a fan on this IC?

I dunno...it definately looks cool. As we all know, if it looks cool. It MUST be fast. :p It should cool down the intercooler quite a bit and will definately help, correct me if i'm wrong..

I don't think there is any point to putting a fan on the intercooler. The only time you really need it to do its job is when your under boost, and when your under boost your already moving so the rushing air from the motion of your car will pretty much be doing the same thing a fan would. Basically, you don't need any air flowing over the IC when your sitting at a stop light.

Just my opinion

well it would help with heat soak at a light...i mean u dont only wanna be fast froma roll do ya?...the way i look at it is it can only help keep the temps on it down...with the neg press behind it all the time, it will allow more air to enter the duct..even at high speeds...now add a vented hood and ur set.....

Don't forget that any type of fan placed behind the intercooler will reduce the air flow thru it at high speed and even a powerfull fan can't move air at say 120 MPH so you loose at high speed when you need colling. IMHO

If your looking at the M2 med you need to check out the one that I'm designing. It also uses a Spearco core the same size as M2 but due to design and placement you'll probably like ours better.....especially if you want to run a fan. Mine is mounted at a angle like the CWC IC. It keeps the battery and ast and will work with any pipe configuration including the stock crossover and elbow pipes, which means your not forced to buy a Greddy elbow or an ast relocation kit.

We are getting togeter a group buy now for $1100. This will include the IC, air duct, pipes, all mounting brackets, and US ground shipping!!!!!!!

To answer your question, yes a fan will be a great help. I will be offering a very good fan for my IC's. Once the IC gets heat soaked it takes FOREVER for it to cool back down....I'm talking miles of interstate driving!!!! You need a fan to keep from getting heat soak in the first place.

Email me for more info about my IC if your interested. Its top quality and you'll really like it. I'll email you more info and pics
