Hi rpm breakup
All's normal while on the primary turbo, but after the secondary comes in at about 5k rpm the engine sounds like a damn popcorn machine! My spark plugs are new, about 1k miles, plug wires too, about 5k miles (stock mazda ngk), I've changed the ign. coil harness with another used one, & my ignition coils are BRAND new. I'm running out of ideas here, can anybody help? Could this be fuel related? Thanks.

i had the sam problem and i feel for you. i tried everything i could think of, including the fuel system. and computer. although i was covinced it was an ignition system problem. still have not figerued out what it was, but this was my solution.
i figured it was running lean when the secondaries cae online and the 2nd turbo. also my car would not to it if i started it up and drove like hell right away. so i figured it could have smethig to do w/ temp. whaen the car was hot it would no run right.
i think it has something o do w/ the temp. sensor. thecar does not run hot, nor read on stock guage that it is running hot, bu tthe computer was reading that it was extremely hot, and would therefor shut off gas. the solution.. was to run an adjustable resistor iline to the ecu. this allows you to manualy "adjust" the temp. it reads. this way i am also able to adjust the fuel mixture somewhat. hope ths helps. pm me if you have any questions about what i just said. i know i may not have explained it corecty triyng to type so fast.

Yeeeeeehaaaaaaa!
Thanks for the coupla responses guys, but......PROBLEM SOLVED! I pulled my spark plugs & noticed that the two trailing were alot darker than the leading pair, so I decided to change the trailing wires only. I had a used set of ACCELS that I had replaced with these "new" stock Mazda NGKs because one of the leadings had failed so I used those. I almost forgot how fast my car was!
