help with idle problm
Have similar idle problem. 94 FD with DP,IC,Air Bos and replumbed vacum. Removed DT. When car is warm idle lunges fron ~500 to 800 rpm. Sometimes knocks off. If I turn the AC on it revs to ~1000 rpm and idles just fine. Car runs great, plenty of boost. I have the fast idle cam wired open, wax rod deal is not a problem. Suspect a disconnected electrical connection under the extension manifold or perhaps at the ACV. Does anybody have an idea? Does the AC turn on provide a hint? I dread pulling the extension manifold without a clue. Also when I crank up cols I do not get the 3000 rpm idle. It seems to gradually rise to about 800 rpm. Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Did u drained your Radiator fluid?? If you did try to burp the system, if not do you have the main cat still make sure the cat is not cloged o yeah one more to check on on the side of the intake manifold by the firewall there's a hose that connects to the manifold from the elbow, last time mine disconnected my idle went down and it would not idle @3000rpm at the cold start. That hose is basicaly for your cold start. Make sure the hose is in good condition.

I am running DP, have already burped the cooling loop. I am using the Greddy ellbow that does not have the connection for the air pipe you are refering to. I just plugged the hose comming out of the extension manifold. My problem is not cold idle, its only when it gets hot.

No engine codes?
Could be the ACV or the intake temp sensor. Could be a bad air bypass adjustment or throttle door setting. Could be a vacuum leak at any point like gaskets, check valves, and hoses.

thanks guys. I have no engine codes. Does anybody know what is normally done with the air hose from the stock intake ellbow to the manifold when using the Greddy ellbow? I just plugged mine up at the manifold.
I replaced all gaskets when putting back togather after vacum plumbing.
Another symptom is a low pitched growl when lightly pushing on the accelerator. Sounds like air turbulance. I suspect it may be the little round diaphram in the ACV is not in place. Guess I will have to take this thing apart again.
Still looking for suggestions
One last thing. When stepping on the accelerator in any gear my boost jumps to ~15 PSI just for about a second or two before the waste gate starts dumping. Is this normal and is it dangerous?
