i was wondering how much a typical engine rebuild and/or a swap would cost.? thanks, jeff

 

I almost think that there is not a "typical" rebuild. It depends what you want to do. You can get a rebuild from Mazda for 2 k with the exchange of your old engine. First you have to find someone to do the swap......another 1-2k perhaps. Oh ya dont forger about the turbos, more then likely if your car has 70k or so miles they will need to be rebuilt also 2k seams to be the magic number. And what about some upgrades to help out engine life like a true cold air induction and a down pipe add in another g-wizz and you are at 6-7,000.
