Drop-in IC?
I saw an IC that basically drops in with all the original mount bracket holes already drilled in. I understood that all you had to do was put on the old mounts and put it back in, I think it is about 200% larger or something like that.
Does anyone know who makes it?
Thanks.

Kinda difficult to be exact size, but also be 200% bigger......
Decent stock locations intercoolers are:
PFS intercooler
Greddy
Blitz
For SMIC the PFS would be your best choice. If you want to get a bit bigger and better go with the M2 med.
If you drag race a lot, you may want to consider a FMIC like my APEXi...

He may be referring to the Mazdacomp IC...it's about stock size, a little thicker I think. Aluminum end tanks, much sturdier than stock. But...SCC tested to and it performed no better than stock, actually a little worse, if memory serves me.
Waste of $$$ IMO.

I have the SR Stock Mount IC.. and it sounds exactly like what you're talking about.. It's thicker than stock, and has about 2x the surface area.. although for the money, the M2 Med's what I would have bought if this didn't come with the car allready.. .

Actually it sounds like your refering to the Greddy stock mount. It bolts right in and is a little less that 200% larger due to the thickness of the IC. Also the Pettit Cool Charge 2 is supposed to be 200% larger and bolt in. Both have thier fair share of problems!!!!
I wouldnt spend my money on those IC's, if your going to spend the $ for a IC you need to get a M2, CWC, or mine that I'm coming out with next week
Email me if you want info on mine......you wont be sorry, its an awsome SMIC, $1100 (current group buy price) new with everything needed to install. Its basically bolt in except you have to relocate the AST but I provide everything for that and its simple,
