downsides to unhooking stock BOV???
Dude, i vented mine and when i went to test drive it there was this loud *** noise when i let off the gas, im hopin my car is ok, it sounded like a loud, woooooooooosh, no oil marks or anything in the engine bay, did my turbo go bad, did i pop my engine... PLEASE ADVISE.........
ejmack> havent u ever heard a BOV? :p Once you plug up the air box and let the BOV vent outside, it is significantly louder...sounds like it's working properly and not venting while you're on the throttle, so its nothing to worry about

I put a K & N filter on my BOV to keep clean air going into it. Because i noticed that it lets in air when the engine is pulling vacuum.

if your BOV is working properly, it should not suck any air in. It's a one way valve.

Thats what i though too. it only lets in air at vacuum it doesnt leak or anything during boost. I also saw a few other post of guys saying the same thing.
