Question ZipTie mod to open 5th + 6th ports?

Hey, sorry if this is a commonly known thing, but i couldnt find it in the search.
I heard some guy talking about using zip ties to keep his 5th and 6th ports open constantly. My question is this, i really dont know all that much about the rotary engine itsself, so is this an ok idea? Secondly how is it done. Anyone have any instructions on how to do it? Doesnt sound too difficult, but hey what do i know?
thanks

I have no instructions, but keeping your 5th and 6th ports open is rather common, the idea is that you get a better top in, but horrible low end. Honestly, if your 5th and 6th port work, leave them alone. You'll be better off!

You do not get better top-end! This is a complete fallicy. They are already open at high revs, so there will be zero improvement. They're supposed to be closed at low revs to increase port velocity, which improves fuel atomisation and air/fuel mixing and give better perfomance as a result. The only reason to do this is as a temporary measure until you repair a non-functioning 6PI system.
