Yoohoo belt Euro-Metric spec

Hi there, just to share the fact that a Gate 6202MC, 55 cm, fits very well if not perfect for a Yoohoo belt (Air Pump removal and need for a second belt for water pump).

sweet. How much does it cost? The Pineapple Racing yoohoo belt costs USD$14.95 but it's always nice to have alternatives.

Thanks, I was seriously looking to order one of these today.

I have to use a yoohoo belt in my MG midget project, and so far I've only found a close but not perfect belt at Napa. It must be broken in between the alt and the other sheave on the water pump because it is slightly wider than stock. I haven't tried this yet. It would be nice to just throw one on and forget about it.

The two belts from the OP or the yoohoo belt avoids having to buy a pulley which supposedly can lead to other issues due to tension differences.

If you buy a double alt. pulley you don't need a yoohoo belt and vice versa.

EDIT:

http://www.pineappleracing.com/index...PROD&ProdID=39
The Pineapple Racing Yoohoo Belt™ is a proven means to avoid a slipping water pump on a Mazda rotary engine without an air pump. The alternator belt alone does not provide enough contact with the water pump, so it tends to slip when properly tensioned. If overtightened to stop the slipping, the belt may break and/or cause damage to the engine from side-loading the end of the eccentric shaft, as well as cause damage to your alternator and water pump bearings.

Dual belt alternator pulley setups are a poor alternative because most nominally correct sized belts vary in actual length, making them impossible to tension equally. So, either one belt is too loose and slips or one is overtightened and eventually breaks. Further, if one belt breaks, it usually takes out the other belt at the same time.

The Yoohoo Belt™ runs from the main pulley to the water pump and back. There is no tensioning adjustment. You just walk the belt onto both pulleys and the tension will be correct. It can be a little loose because there is so much contact area that it will not slip. Also, if the alternator belt happens to break, the water pump is still driven. You can drive a lot farther without an alternator than without a water pump, which can be important in order to reach the next exit or the nearest parking lot.

Product is intended for off-road use only. Do not install on emissions controlled vehicle.

I'm in France where things (all kind!) are expensive, e.g. O2 sensor for 80 Euros when it's 20 USD in USA...
I've bought it 10 Euros, already very expensive...
For the thightness, it's tight, not enough to worn a bearing, and I have to check if it get a bit loose when breakin' in.
Anyway I've some times because since it's fitted... she does not want to start anymore ='( starter motor won't turn at all, maybe it got stuck or such...

yeah everything is pricey over there. gas, milk, and all those things we take for granted. It's still cheaper than having to buy a NEW pulley set.

On my 1st gen, I removed the air pump and kept the clutch fan. I never needed a yoohoo belt.

well I just ordered it. I no longer have the stock fan nor the airpump so I don't want to risk overheating. I'll let you know how it goes after the build is complete.

I've been using the yoohoo belt on my car for the last 3 years. Can't say that i have ever had any problems with it. It's just a pain to take off and put back on when you need to.

Push hard and turn the water pump pulley to help when it's in for a good part. It will settle by itself.

They are a "2L-220" v-belt(22 inch) if memory serves right.I'm betting you can get them in places like lowe's,home depot etc.as they are a size used for garage door openers or just find an industrial supply store that sells v-velts.I'm sure it will be less then half the price of what pineapple charges to ship these.

That's the aim of my topic here:
some had success with the 3L220, but some found it a bit loose,
some used a 3L215 but it was always tight.
So each are 55,8 and 54,6cm, but in France it's far more easy to find a 55 one, wich is in the middle of both US sized ones. And it fit just perfect, tight as it should be. If I had to use a belt tensioner it would be... tight like the 55cm one.
So that's why I share the info of my belt coz' it's perfect.

Anyway US size are listed above.
