Heh, I wouldnt suggest buying an NA then converting it to a turbo right off the bat, if u wanted a T2, should just buy one.

but my first upgrades were Intake, and full exhaust

 

First upgrade: tune it up and change all fluids, go back to stock wheels and tires or just get light aftermarket wheels and tires with a diameter no larger than the stock diameter. Then get some nice springs and struts to lower it an inch, and perhaps get a header. You should still pass emmissions with all this done but have a quicker car for not too much extra $.
