YJA - miscellaneous / weird stuff

Cross bar - seems to be pretty popular thing to sell on Yahoo Japan Auctions.

Deep fin trans plate cover - never seen one for FC turbo trans; someone actually makes one.

Zippo lighter - pricey at full retail almost US$100!

I'm looking for a good deal on the Zippo lighter.
I've only seen two auctions - both going for about US$60.
Going through Wheelchoice HURTS!
I bought something cheap just to see their rates, and a US$3 purchased quickly turned into a US$40 purchase shipped to me door.
OUCH!
It was only for a pair of black visors too! :P

That US$60 lighter is going to end up costing US$100 shipped, but I've never seen any of the FC3S ones in the local Zippo shops.
I've been looking for one for while too...

ted...there was a savana RX-7 zippo that had a little hood on the main body of the zippo which you would lift up to reveal the engine (all stamped into the metal). if you can find that i will give you eleventy billion dollars!

Yeah, that Zippo is pretty damn cool. If you could take off the "Savanna" part... I hate being a poser. No offense to you guys.

Why does it have to be without Savanna? There's nothing poser about it if it's a genuine item. That's what they were called.

Since when do you see an authentic R.E. Amemiya hood like this one go for sale for a starting bid of ~US$40!
http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m46512118

For those who are...Japanese challenged...
Try these options...

1) Slow option:
http://www.wheelchoice.com/
Click the BidChoice link on the left side.
This brings up the Yahoo Japan Auctions webpage through an English translator.
(Click "Automotive".)
The Nifty Akimai Translator is a bit laggy, but it translates links on the fly.
The English translation is in green.
Of course, it's not perfect, but it gives you a better idea of what the page is saying.

2) Faster option:
Run all Yahoo Japan pages through the Google Langauge translator...
Open two windows - one for Yahoo Japan Auctions and another for the Google Translator.
Main Yahoo Japan Auctions web page: http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/
Main Google Translator web page: http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en
Simple grab the URL and cut&paste into the Google Translator http: window.

Oh, and if it isn't obvious, keyword seach is "fc3s".
You can searches with certain "English" keywords like that.
Others are "13bt", "hks" (although LOTS of commercial ****), "apex" (for A'PEXi).

Now if I could only install the Japanese language pack at work...

Sure, the hood is cheap enough, but can you find the lights to match?

Yeah, I can't DL the language packs are work too, so I'm running it through BidChoice and the Nifty Translator...
At least the green English translation is enough to not worry about all the boxes! :P

I found one of the lighters...
http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c156494073
It's about US$60.
