Rare digital A/C logicon...
Over US$100!
I've also read this isn't a drop-in swap?

As a side note, I'm beginning to wonder if the POWER folding door mirrors are a myth...?
I've never come across one yet, and all the center console panels do not show a folding switch option.
I've seen Supras with power folding mirrors on eBay... :P

I think the key difference was that the pigtail has a plug on the back of the digital one, but on the normal ones, they are soldered into it. Not sure if the plug on the other side is the same... I would imagine it is.

Oh.. and the power folding mirrors aren't a myth.. but they aren't the same...

Power folding mirrors on other cars I guess fold in by themselves.... the 7's "power" folding mirrors are just folding mirrors that happen to be power. The folding mechanism isn't powered... I think. Do a search though, theres a couple posts about it.

Yeah, that seems to be the case...
I've seen a LOT of folding mirrors that you need to flip them yourself.
Some J-spec cars (not FC's) have the power folding mirrors which you just hit a button and the mirrors fold against the body...sorta like flapping your ears.
I guess I'll wait for a set that's the same color as my car - 5A blue - actually hard to find parts that color.
I've seen a lot of white / red / black /gray ones.

Thats why I made my own paint booth.. I was sick of looking for parts in my color. Not sure what the regulations are in HI, but.. I'd risk it.

They are. Power folding mirrors are very common in Japan, but they were never fitted to the FC.

that tranny piece is made by supernow! Jason is correct, the mirrors need to be manually folded. that digital logicon is from the gt limited models and has been for sale for at least a year now. you need a lot of stuff to make it work on a non gt limited model. if it was a direct swap i would have had it a long time ago

you need at least:
1. Head unit/logicon
2. Air sampling motor. Has a little fan on it with a thermistor that samples the air in the cabin so the thing can have feedback control of temp.
3. Heat sensor for the heater core
4. Heat sensor for A/C
5. Photosensor that goes on top of dash near where VIN is.(Optional) unsure what this does.

I had a set of j-spec mirrors on my imported fc. They are basically just spring loaded folders with a power mirror adjustment, sort of like ganador.

However be warned the hooks in the mirror are know to break leaving the mirror useless

If anybody desperately wants some they aren’t to hard to find over here

Not useless, just hard to reset until you figure out how. My driver's side mirror is missing the hook (it actually a guide cam), and I keep a small screwdriver in the centre console to lever it back into place. I can do it in seconds, but it's annoying. I actually have a replacement cam, but do you think I can figure out how to get it on?

Power mirrors would be nice to have, but whats the use in them?
I guess if you pull up against mailboxes a lot, or park in a small garage or something..

This is semi-off topic but,
NICE car NZConvertible.
I clicked for pics and had to say that :P

Thanks.

I like retractable mirrors. It's not something you'd use every day, but they're good when parking in public carparks where people often walk between cars. I've accidentally bumped other people's mirrors a few times are would prefer people didn't bump mine. Plus when people do bump my driver's mirror, I have to pull out a screwdriver!
