yet another "why is it beeping?" thread

I know this one gets asked all the time, but I'm absolutely stumped on this one. My buddy and I just completed some work on my 86' GXL. I removed my indiglo guages, replaced all the bulbs that were burnt out while I was in there(all wires were reconnected everthing works fine). Finally got around to removing the A/C pump(everthing else has been gone for quite some time) and we put now rotors, pads, SS lines, and fluid in. We were out doing the break in procedure, and right as we were doing the last of the controlled stops it went beep, beep, beep. Just like it has done before when the motor dies coming down to idle(my S-AFC has ALOT of fuel pulled out at idle so if it's cold it will time from time to time) only the motor was still running just fine, the beeping continued. While driving the beeping will continue until for long time spans unless a. it just randomly stops from time to time, b. it seems to be prone to stopping if I redline the car(get the buzzer) or dive into any turns really hard. The only warning light that I have that doesn't work right is my alt. light and the S-AFC confirms that it is operating at standard S4 13.8 volts. I'm stumped, the only things I know are/might be wrong with the car is that it's about 1/4 of a liter too full on oil(stock OMP so that might already be a non-issue) and my plugs are due for a replacing, that's it it runs fine everything works fine... I'm lost.

beeping is from the power steering computer.

There are buzzers for low oil, low coolant, and over rev, as well as for lights on, key in ignition, etc.

so if this is a beeping, then did you remove the steering wheel??? if so is the beeping in an order (such as 1 beep pause or 5 beeps pause)??? If so did you read the FAQ for FC at the top of this section???

Steering wheel did not come off. It was beeping 3 then a pause the first few times it did it, but all day today it was 5 then a pause... I'll be going to the FAQ now.

I keep hearing a beep beep beep
Probably the power steering computer telling you there is a problem with the system. The number of beeps before pausing will indicate the problem.
1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.
2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds twice and repeats when the vehicle speed signal is missing input and/or no engine speed signal is found (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)
3-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of stepping motor signal:
The buzzer sounds when there are broken wires or short circuits in coils or harnesses.
4-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The buzzer sounds 4 and repeats when there are circuit troubles other than with the micro computer.
5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal: Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed.
You had the steering wheel off or steering column cover and damaged, broke, or unplugged the steering wheel sensor if you are getting 5 beeps.
