its not realy a question of using a smaller size injector, its realy a question of what size injector the gslse injector is. is it 680cc or is it 720cc ? can any one compare the denzo replacement part # to what size they are? and I would not dream of useing less fuel injector than what the instructions say to use.

GSL-SE injectors are supposed to be 680cc. If you have some injectors that are flow tested and show 720cc's, use them.

I want to know the same thing. All the pocketloggers site says is "retards above 9psi", but how high above stock level?

if you read on it says 1degree for every pound of boost, probably up until 15psi where the stock boost sensor stops.

Well how many people have a turbo that will boost over 15psi? Stock turbos are out of their efficiency range around that area and even some hybrids arent meant to boost that high.

yeah your right. I have a hybrid that sees 15psi on a regular basis (before wastegate porting) so I'm guessing I will be seeing 15 if I set it that high with my boost controller however with those with stock turbos 12psi is all you should see at maximum.

There has been a correction on the site. We quoted 1.7 as having a staging point at 3300 when actually it's still 3500 just like the 1.5.

As per Henrik, there is a certain amount of hysterisis in the staging RPM.. They come on at 3500 and once on, they wont turn off until 3300.

No self installs for 1.7 because it is no longer just an easy chip swap. You need to cut traces and run wires.

The 3300 was a typo that was on the site for a total of 24 hours. All chips always had 3500 secondary staging point.

2.0 is a major mod to the ECU, it adds a piggyback board that provides a serial port interface that can be used for datalogging out of the ECU and configuration of settings in the ECU. Using a pocketlogger on a Palm, you'll be able to view in realtime as well as record rpm, boost, temps, TPS, etc. Initial configuration ability will include trim the fuel delivery (built in S-AFC, only better), select injector configurations and secondary rpm staging. Timing control will follow.

Shipped ECU Out Today.

Sent my ECU out today. Wish I could have done the self install--now I'm out of a car for a few days--oh well it's a great product.

I bailed on the E-manage to go with the Rtek 1.7. Does everything I want and will run $170 (the extra is shipping costs) versus the E-manage at $400. I still think the E-manage is a great piggyback, just right now the cost is an issue.

Still would like to know how high the timing gets retarded in relation to boost. Does it retard timing up to the sensor limit of ~15 psi?

I'll let you all know how it goes.

It's just some sarcasm kid.

Interesting question but I don't see how that chip could change how high the boost sensor sees boost. If the boost sensor sees up to 15psi I'm sure thats all this will do. But I may be wrong. You should email them and ask them. They are realy good about answering questions. If you do this write back and tell us. Thanks.

totally clueless on s4 ecu

would installing the chip be similar to installing like a RAM chip in your personal computer or would it require soldering?

oh it is way more advanced then a ram chip You have to solder for the older 1.0 (discontinued) and 1.5 however with the 1.7 you have to cut and splice circuit board traces plus solder the chip. It is very advanced.

Since a ram chip has a socket built into the motherboard, without a previouse instalation of an rtek chip, no. Soldering is involved, as is de soldering old chips.

thanx for the quick reply, it's greatly appreciated.
one more question how exactly is it soldered to the board, wires or something else?
