dynomax exhuat U bends. like $15usd each... you just cut em at the angles / lenghs you want.

the 2 peices sitting on the shock tower is 1 peice. that's what they look like uncut, a big "U"

you gota paint them though or they will rust.

The first 2 pictures clearly identifies your love for the intercooler. Why else would it be in your bed??

i was just wondering if you took into account that every bend in that pipe you have increases heat. how well do you expect this to cool?

I'm thinking how well is it going to work in front of the raitator. At idle its going to warm that intercooler up! I would'nt worry about the piping.

I was wondering, you think a couple small/powerful/loud push fans would help the IC out any? i know it would be an eye sore to look at from the front, but do yout hink they would help, or be a restriction? Or not even enough to worry about. BTW, great idea with the IC piping, that is how i am going to run mine now, thanks.

I was thinking about it... but my alternator is getting maxed out as it is... gota work on the FD swap this winter I think.

the stock fan sits right in front, and would be perfect. but I had to take it out to fit the intake.

Scott -

I would seriously consider getting pipe beads put on each part of the intercooler pipe. This is a rolled lip on the end of each pipe where a coupler goes on - without it, you will be popping off IC pipes like you have no idea. If you can't find a place with a bead roller, you can also have them welded on.

Also, don't re-use any of the stock IC hose clamps - get good brand-new clamps. The stock clamps are typically worn by the time you get to them and won't tighten properly - they are usually stripped out. Also, only tighten the hose clamps with a nut driver - you need them good and tight. A screw driver won't cut it.

Trust me on this one - on my old IC setup, I blew IC pipes off a few times, and nothing is more embarrassing than limping the car to the side of the road to put the pipe and coupler back on. You also want silicone couplers that fit JUST right - nice and tight. Loose won't cut it.

Looks good. A few questions:

1) Any advantage of putting the FMIC behind the front frame? Most "kits" have you going in front.

2) Are you going to put flashing on top to force air through the FMIC & Radiator?

Props on not cutting the car

1) about 2' less piping . and full air flow to the oil cooler. durring testing I mounted the core right in the bumper opening for a day and my oil temps went up 20-30F!

it's also hidden from front view now which I like. anyone got an N/A hood for sale hehehe

2) you mean like this? I Painted the front piece black now... http://www.1300cc.com/newintake/IMAGE009.jpg

3) yes that was one of the main goals of the project
