Yay for FMIC!
Well, since I pulled the motor out of my car anyway I figure I might as well stick a front mount on it while I had it all tore apart.
But don't you hate how projects do this? Start on the FMIC, never get around to pulling the engine... Oh well, engine is out now, new one is on it's way. FMIC is sitting on a car with no motor....
Someday it'll all be done.

Everybody is using those ebay specials now. I looked at those last year when shopping for mine and wondered just who would ever want the turbo lag that huge volume would create. . . . maybe a cummins turbo diesel or 10 second drag car. But yeah, those are cheap and clean looking but man, that's a lot of aluminum.

what are you going to do about the lack of cold air to your oil cooler??? That's why I chose a small one..........I was worried about the oil cooler........I can always do water injection( or Nitrous injection) if the fmic I chose is not big enough...........

i'm still torn between large and a moderate sized intercooler.
though the large intercooler creates more cool air it increases lag and more heat for the rest of the cooling system. the smaller ones decrease the lag but do not cool the air as well and restrict flow for bigger HP numbers... AHHH! which one?!
i think i'll go something middle of the road, not huge and not small...sounds like a reasonable solution

a little too narrow, seems to block too much of the side airflow. longer and about that height looks to be what i want.
24" core seems to be about right, though i think 26" would be perfect but is an uncommon size.
26X7X2.75 (2.5 in/2.5 out) tell em to make me one

To the haters: I've seen a lot of these I/Cs used and haven't seen any negative effects other than a little lag, but the turbo and motor going in here will provide plenty of push, plus, it was free. So quit complaining about my I/C :P
It's actually a lot smaller than it looks.
And by smaller I mean it's huge.
This is before I ran the pipe, but it all worked out in the end. It's hard to tell in the picture but the I/C is actually angled backwards quite a bit.
I left the two frame extensions that hold the bumper support on there and just cut them so that the top of the I/C can start farther out and have more of an angle backwards.
Karack: We sell a 24x6x3 core, but that's about as close as it gets
