well it was semi warm so i pulled the old one out. the clutch grenaded too. fun stuff. 3rd gear has no teeth, the shift fork is between the imput shaft and 5th. and about 2 handfulls of metal fell out of the bottom of the case. i have never seen a tranny this bad before. crazy. maybe i will post pics.

Listen, if you have a little extra $$ on top of a rebuild, and you want maximum performance from your tranny, I have heard excellent second-hand reviews about the cryogenic treatment process for hardening them. It doesn't change the external size AT ALLmakes the gears much tougher. There is a shop here in Atlanta that does it for a lot of the racers here and they all like it very much. You can get pretty much the entire metal parts of the tranny (gears, shafts, maybe even synchros but those are supposed to wear I think) done, too... my next rebuild I will give that a serious thought.

Just my $0.02

Don't know exactly. Their website is http://www.procryo.com though, so you can check it out. They also do powdercoating and stuff. I got them through a good referral from some guys at another shop.
