WTF is this? (Let's play Name That Part! Season 2 Special Edition DVD boxset)

Anyone have any idea what the blurred (sorry... I suck at close-range photography when it comes to focusing, apparently) connector with the fins is?

I can't find any similar opposite connectors, and I just noticed it while fishing around for grounds and any unconnected wires.

I think I had noticed it before but forgot to look for where it went...

It might help us a bit if we knew what car you are referring to? A yugo, porsche, year, etc. please.

Ah yes...

89 GTU FC.

And for a description of the connector, it's a circular grey connector with 3 fins on one side, on a long, light grey section of harness.

OK Valkyrie, it is a little dark here, but I went to car and found the connector. Will have to look in the am as to where it goes exactly, but the other end you are looking for runs forward, and under the engine. Can't locate in FSM, exactly, but let you know tomorrow!

If you have a fan for you a/c . That plug goes in the rear of your water pump housing. Some of the s5 have two sensors next to each other. Not a big deal
Thanks Robert

OK, it is either your oil level sensor, probably, or oil thermo sensor.

No... the oil level sensor is a white plug, and it's hooked up (if it wasn't, the oil level buzzer would be going off).

And by oil temp sensor, do you mean the one for subzero assist, or something else? The subzero assist is also a white plug, and it's hooked up, although it's kind of pointless since I threw the subzero assist bottle away (well actually it's at the bottom of my driveway right now...lol).

Unless there's another oil themo sensor that I don't know about.

For the record, the wire goes to the same place that the ECU grounds on the block go (which is under the UIM).

(thanks for your help though)

Both Sensors are on the bottom of the oil pan. I will take the picture in the morning. If I am wrong, serves me right for lying on my back in the dark to try and help!

Yeah... that's them, and they're already hooked up.

The connector I'm talking about is on the top of the car.

Sorry.

I'm just telling you that the connector you have in your photo, is the same one that I am referring to. I will trace it, take lots of photos, and post in the am. Hope we can figure it out for you.

I'm pretty sure you're right. Aux fan switch fan AC which was an option.

Valkyrie, I traced the plug wire that you posted a picture of, and on my sons 90 vert n/a, manual transmission that plug goes to the bottom of the oil pan. So, maybe your plug is different, but if you want, I willl post pics, or whatever. Let me know.
