WTF cooling problem.
WTF cooling problem.
Alright i had a topic posted last night about my thermo not coming on and thats definetly all sorted now. However i went out just before and the car started getting hot again. WTF i thought it was the thermo not coming on but it wasn,t so i managed to get it home with it only spiking 108 deg but the thing is when i stopped it and had a look just then, there was no pressure on the rad hoses, and even the rad cap was cool to touch???? I put a brand new water pump in while the cars been off the road. The radiator is a PWR 55mm core alloy radiator with the 16" curved blade spal thermo that is supposed to pull over 3000cfm. One thing that gets me is i put in a Nulon coolant, that said it was designed for racing and I noticed on the back that it contains no glycol, which i thought was essential? Anyway can someone shed some light on this problem. I came home prepared to make up some better ducting but it's like the waters not pumping through. Could it be thermo stat related?
Possibly also worth mentioning, the radiator warning light came on when i started the car, I figured that ment low fluid which it's not. Is it possible i disturbed some wiring?
Ok eek things have gotten scary, the radiator has bugger all coolant left in it. I was leaning towards a thermostat not opening as i had topped up the coolant before i left, but for it to have nothing in it =O fark i hope i haven't damaged the engine. So does this mean its basically boiled it and dumped it all out?
**** me i can't ******* win, still having issues with this turbo kit i got months ago and have to drive 1600kms to get it sorted by the guys i buy the kit off, and now i find this cooling problem and its coolant pissing out of the core. You would think spending 1100 on a radiator they would pressure test the bloody thing
