Question Wrecked the GTU and found a TII for $1000 next door, should I?

Well as you all know I wrecked my GTU last night and yes it is TOTALED. I'll be able to get the engine, the tranny, the rear drive train, and most of the interior peices. When I went to look at my car in the impound I saw a red 86-88 TII siting in a dealership lot. I asked the guy what was wrong with it. He said all it needs is a feul pump and its ready to go. He wants $1000(USD). The interior is shaby but I can replace that with the interior of the GTU. The engine is SSOO clean it looks great. It needs a new paint job or at least a few coats of wax after several hours of cleaning on the exterior. Great tires (new), good rims, but it has 140,000 miles on it. Should I get it?

Its rare enough to see a TII in a dealership but to see one as you're visiting your dead GTU at the impound?? Sounds like fate to me.

The guy said that the feul pump was just broken. I checked out the rest of the car's engine and damn it was sweet.

Why? That's like wanting to evolve back into monkeys.

(runs from thrown bricks. Of course, the bricks are too slow to catch me since they are thrown by slow NA owners)

(gets beaten down by turbo-envious NA owners...)

I'm not saying I wouldn't TAKE a TII, but given the choice between N/A and TII, I'd pick N/A anyway. I work on cars enough as it is, I'll take a more reliable N/A.

( Notice, I said the N/A was more reliable, not that the TII is the break every other day, shop baby that it is. )

I think I'm really going nuts here guys. Or at least the RX-7s around here really want me to buy them. While I had my rex I knew of four '7s in Austin. Today I saw 6 That were just begging to be bought. But only one TII. I think I'm gonna have the guy really tell me whats wrong with it and see if I can swap a fuel pump to see if it works. If I don't do that I'll only give the bastard 800 for a busted car. Sound like a good idea?

BUY IT!!! BUY IT!!! Thats a STEAL!! Even of the motor will go bad. Its still a steal. Just think of all the goodies that the TII comes with that the N/A doesn't have. LSD, suspension, and... TURBO!!!!

Well it looks like I'm getting a TII guys. I wasn't able to get my car out of the pound today but I will get it tomorrow and start pulling the good **** out of the engine bay. I can't beleive I'm getting a TII! Finally!!!!
You know, before I saw my GTU I wanted a truck. Now the only things I think of are RX-7s and the hot chicks that go to my school. Weird.
