The car won't run with it off I think. The AFM controls the amount of air your engine gets so you have to have it pluged in.

I have it. It does what it's advertised to do, but is more expensive than other intake kits...

Also, do not mount your AFM sideways as it my mention in the instructions. Make sure to mount it in the factory orientation (believe me, it matters).

Why dont you just get the auminum intake adapter, and got to advanced or autozone and get a K&N cone filter and a breather filter, all for about $50. Does the same thing, doesnt look much different, and costs about 1/3 of what the bonez or Apexi ones do.

Okay, I'll bite...why DON'T you mount it as it says in the instructions?

I used to own an n/a(it's currently owned by my father), so it would probably be a good idea to tell him to "right" the AFM.

In the '86-'88 cars, mounting the AFM sideways causes the flapper door to be effected by gravity. The result is a car that either runs too rich, or too lean, depending on how you mount the AFM. '89+ cars don't matter.

Nope, doesn't matter on '89+ cars. They have a different (BETTER) AFM.
