Would you run 1680cc 2ndaries with this setup?

- S5 13bt
- Streetport
- T04B V-trim hybrid
- Lt8
- 550cc primaries

I can get a pair of 1680cc Bosch injectors for cheaper than a pair of 750cc injectors... Getting the 1680's leave me more room to grow when or if I decide to go with a larger turbo. However, I'm unsure of if I'll be able to lower the duty cycle to a point where I won't be running pig rich all the time...

I also currently have GSL-SE injectors as secondaries... Would using them as primaries help to make the transition of running the 1680 secondaries less dramatic?

Anyone have any imput?

With a programmable ECU you will not have a problem. Tuning involves setting the injector opening time (not duty cycle) required at each load/rpm point. You can set that to zero if you really want (but don't...), so you'll only run too rich if that's what you set.

Dunno about MicroTechs, but I know Haltechs can be tuned for a seamless transition with big secondaries.

I have a Haltech and my best friend has the LT8. The Microtech is soo much smoother in transitions. It's just a little more advanced. I would say that those secondaries are a little overkill for what you're having. But it will establish a good foundation for further growth. Since you have the ability to control transitions, and flow.....then i would stick with it. It's the same set up most people here have, but just on bigger turbo's. Wich btw, you're using a stock turbine housing, since you said Hybrid right?

You'd have to go back a few models to find a Haltech that's less advanced that the LT8. If you're having transition problems then it's not tuned properly. If you check out the Haltech section you'll find guys running 550/1600 combos with perfectly smooth injector staging.

I've had the 550-1680 setup and it works great, even tried 4 x 1680 which works even better, but my favorite is 4 x 1000cc. It just seems to work the best with my Wolf EMS 4.0., ported motor, 1.00 A/R & 20psi-boost etc. Wish I knew why .

Also, don't know alot about MT's.. Haltec's seem okay though.

I'm running 550s and 1680s. A friend convinced me to back down to the 550s, i was going to run with 680 primaries.

Where are you guys buying the 1680cc injectors??? I'd Really like to know. Also, I heard about people using Ford Natural Gas injectors for secondaries, anybody heard of this?

I'm going to run 720 primaries and 1680 secondaries. Where is the deal your getting on these injectors? Or is it a private sale?

We have 3 Haltech E6K cars, one running 460/1600 combo, other one 550/1600 combo and in my car i have 680/1600 combo.
All 3 cars have no problems with crossover once tuned.

I have an E6K and the Microtech was an LTX8 sorry. It's not that the Haltech isn't smooth. But when cold, and or super lean cruise conditions, to full boost, the MT just seems better to me.

No offense or anything, but you just need to work on your tuning on the haltech.
