I'm considering all the possibilities before I start buying all the parts needed for a t2 swap, and I just found out you can run a na rear end with a t2 motor and tranny with a mazdatrix drive shaft. Now what i am asking is that is it worth it? Will it break on me down the line? Or should I just keep waiting till I come across the t2 rear end components.

I've been running a 87 non turbo car with a stock turboII engine/transmission with non turbo rear end for over five years with no problems. It's a daily driverr type car. Mazdatrix driveshaft.
I prefer that car to my stock 87 TurboII car.

There seems to be a lot of varied opinion on this, but ~300hp seems to be the point that the NA diff doesn't hold up well past - below that, you may get years of use out of it. Do you at least have an LSD diff? If not, I'd go looking for a TII diff and axles anyway, no point having power and using it to light up one tire at a time.

Well i tend to use it as a daily driver with some autocross fun. I dont plan on upgrading it any more after that. I just want to have a turbo, I dont think there is a point to have that much power since I wont be using it most of the time. also is this the drive shaft there talking about... http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.asp?partnum=2691-799
And I dont have a stock LSD, would that be something I should look into?
(and i did search, but I wanted someone's opinion on it.)

yes, run the NA rear, IF it breaks than swap in the turbo diff. this is the easiest and simplest way. its a TON of work to change everything out just because it *might* break someday.
