Which would you choose?

Okay, my current situation is;

87 Jspec motor TII RX-7. about 170k on body, and faded paint, 2+2, half painted interior. It'll cost me 1700 and repairs of some ignition problems and maybe some other things. I also have contact of a previous owner, so I could talk to him. Oh yea, it probably most likely wont' pass echeck here; not to mention, it has a few gauges, boost, fuel, and some after market exhaust.

the other car

88 10th Anniversary. Canary Yellow? I don't quite remember, blown motor; perhaps more haven't seen the car. But the car is mint, no dings or major noticeable flaws. 140k on body and engine(dead). I probably could get it off him cheap, but how much is an 88 10th ae worth? I don't know. Whats the difference between it and the other TurboII's besides the steering wheel and emblem? Now this car is stock and has sat for about 8 months so far not moving.

What would you choose? How much would you give for the 10th anniversary? Recommendations? Thanks!

A canary yellow 10 AE?

Any increase in value it might have for being an AE just went out the window...

Immaculate 10AE with less than 100k on the motor or rebuilt motor seems to go for around 5K on ebay. But those I am thinking off were show quality cars and no they were not canary yellow either. So I would consider it a dead s4 t2 and offer something little less than 1k. If he wants more, go for the 87 t2.

Given the choices, I would choose 6 months in Abu Ghraib rather than mess with those two nightmare cars.

More seriously, I think I would choose the 10AE because it sounds less ghetto-modified. I guess it depends on what kind of work you want to do on the respective cars. Plan on several thousand dollars and lots of time to get either running properly.

i'd do the 10AE simply because you can rebuild the transmission and engine and replace all of the electrical and have a nice good running car for about 4,500 when its all done.

The VIN will look the same as any other 88 TII.

The paint code for a 10AE is "UC", which is crystal white

i would, but i dont' have enough garage space for it.

we have 3 cars already, so i'd get one more and let it sit in my garage as my project car.
