would you buy a heavily modd'd turboII?
found one with a fmic (not sure what make) T04 turbo and some other goodies.. i haven't had a chance to check it out in person.. but what do you guys think? most likely the poor car was ragged on.. so i'm not too sure. i'm not down for a rebuild in like 4 months OR LESS! should i keep looking?
Yes, mostly likely that car has been driven hard. I personally wouldn't buy a modified car, just because you don't know how well the parts are installed, how much they've ragged on it, picking out/ buying/ and installing parts is the fun part right? It's up to you though, I'd definitely check over the car carefully, and get a compression test if you're still interested.
Yo,
I would buy CYMFC3S's...1FastT2...and BlueTII's car in a heartbeat. Those boys have their **** /together/.
Again, if it's done right...why wouldn't you do it? Save yourself buttloads of money and headaches getting a turnkey...
My 2 cents.

i suppose it depends on how much it is. say it's a decent price leaving with you money left over just in case. Go for it.. if you're still paying for those mods then maybe it's not worth it. You will know alot about a car by looking at it... look at the interior.. is it vacuum'ed super clean looking as close to brand new as possible.. how about the engine bay. clean.. not much grease buildup if any.. things like that tell you how the owner took care of the car.
Be very careful. I just went through a headache with this. It is hard to tell on a casual inspection what problems a car has. A heavily modded one more than likely has several issues you won't know about and which will have to be sorted through so buy warily and make sure you have a fair amount of money to deal with whatever comes up. It is very hard for even the best mechanic to fix someone elses errors, as they don't know what someone did. I am not sure I would buy a modified one unless I was absolutely positive it was in very very good shape.

only if i knew the owner and his work.
ya i guy i talked to bought a T2 that seemed to have some mods, but ran well and pulled hard...he then found it was running really rich (half a tank in 30 miles) and was advanced 15 degrees without which it wouldn't run right
