1. Any minor gain you might get from HP would be offset by the additional load on the alt and battery.

2. If there was any major efficency and HP to be gotten from an electric fan, Mazda would have done it on the series 5 car when it went on a crash program to squeeze out the extra 14 HP from the series 4 car.

3. The overheat issues have yet to be solved, once a week someone posts: I put this electric fan in and it worked great until...

None, I will have to say get a Blackmagic! The power gain is not there.............really! but its so easy to work on the car. I only see low voltage at idle when the A/C\headlights are on and I'm cranking the volume on my 100 amps sound system.

efan from a fiero
flows a LOT of air, pretty reliable (easy to make something that tells you if it's dead, too), and I have one around (my old parts car has a new rad and fan)

also, motor driven fans sound like crap, efans are much quieter and better at their job.
