Would it be worth it?

Ok, so here goes. I'm in the process of buying this guy's '87 gxl. The car has a new s5 motor swapped into it with only 40k on it. I'm getting this thing at a steal for $700!! the body is in good condition and a whole new front end.

(It was in a front end accident and they replaced the motor with a new one from japan, and all new front end parts)

So, with this car having such low miles I was thinking about doing something special with it. I hear how hard it is to turn an N/A into a turbo without swapping a TII motor in... But would it be worth it in this case? He already has a TII hood on it by the way.

Aaroncake's Project Tina (http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/projecttina/index.html) shows one way to add a turbo to an N/A block.

yea I kinda find it odd that a N/A motor from japan (seeing how they never had the N/A right option?) was swapped into the gxl your trying to buy =/

doesn't sound as hard as i thought it'd be. it only took him a few months to get the turbo in and the car runnin.

haha that's a good point. But where would a new N/A engine come from other than japan?

I don't think there is such a thing as an s5 n/a jdm engine... Also turning an n/a into a turbo the right way will be EXPENSIVE.
