Would getting rid of componets, (ie. cutting belts off), mess up the timing at all?

I took out my P/S, and cut my A/C belt, and Ive had a real shitty idle lately, actually I think it started right after I took out my P/S, could this retard the timing at all? And since I thought it was my idle mixture I screwed with the screw without thinking and now I dont know where it goes, any certain # of turns?

Nope, certainly doesnt mess with the timing... On the other hand, the bac valve opens for the ps, doesnt it? If it fed it more air when you turned, but there wasnt any additional load on the motor, I could see that messing it up.. dont know how you'd fix it though- just live with it. That idle mix screw is a bastard, pain in the ***... Its only for a/f mix at idle, so it doesnt matter all that much. To set it, jumper the idle learn plug, and turn the mix screw until you get the highest idle. Make sure your motor is completely warmed up, and unscrew the idle adjust scew a turn or two, just so the other screw is easier to set. Good luck, and stop messing with stuff you dont know how to adjust.. lol :p
