would car being out of alignment mess up my bearings or anything in rear?

Aight guys I get alot of weird tire wear and I have had a problem with my seven since i have had it. My right rear wheel has the pads clicking against the disk at low speeds and once the caliper even broke off on the freeway and came loose from the studs because of the wheel wobbling. The discs were never warped but appeared to be so when I pulled the wheel off and jacked the car and sho nuff the caliper was moving from side to side. I took the non warped disk from the other side and same thing. This meant that I had a bearing problem right? So I changed the whole hub and had a new bearing packed in and now its not flush again and not packed right and the pads are clicking again. Could the DTSS have anything to do with this or maybe driving with the car constantly out of alignment be throwing out my bearing and causing me these issues?

hve made sure the lug nuts have been properly torque down?

Brake pads are probably cracked in the middle and are moving around - get new pads.

man I have changed all of this before. I have changed pads, discs, hubs, bearings......it all doesnt make a difference. What would cause all of these sdifferent parts over time to do the same thing?

A lot of times the rim can be slightly clipping the dust shield causing a clicking noise. I had this in the rear and luckily those shields are very easy to bend. Don't remove them though as all the grime will make short order of your calipers.

Your alignment would have to be SCREWED to toast the bearing...there would have to be so much additional load placed on it. How big are your wheels and tires? Wide sticky tires and heavy wheels with offsets that sit the rim much wider than stock puts much more pressure on the bearing but I don't think the bearing is your problem. Have you tried anothr brand of brake pad or new caliper? I wonder if the caliper is slightly seized.

i tried that. I have gone thru four different calipers and trhee different hubs and three different discs and even rebuilt calipers and rebuilding them myself and same problem. What is causing this problem has even caused the caliper to wobble back and forth enough to cause it to shear the bolts it was on and break off on the freeway. If any of you could figure out what would cause a caliper to strip the threads on the bolts to where it would come off then please let me know.

Hmmm...better check everything else around that are...ball joints, tie rods and ends. Does the clicking disappear when you apply the brake?

damn you replaced the pads, axle, hub, bearings, rotors. and it stil wont' go away.. Have your aligment checked. Something has been installed wrong.

thats what I am saying. I replaced everything so i guess i should check the ball joints and what not like jon is saying, and he is on the dot with the clicking noise going aay when i hit the brake...I know my pads get worn unevenly after a while i thinhk thats why they can click but maybe jon knows better. I am going back from Portland to Raleigh and it is a 3300 mile drive and I dont want my car falling apart.

Just a thought how close is the inside of your rim to the caliper? The movement could be just enough to be hitting the inside of your rim. Take a look inside the rim and try to find any signs of this. If something is still making all that noise and you have replace almost everything back there something is not torqued down properly

That isnt what is happening either but funny you mention is that whatever is causing this problem actually stripped the bolts that the calipers sit on and the caliper lifted off of the rim on the freeway and locked the wheel up from the inside of the rim by contact. Thats nuts and I prefer it not to happen again. Question is what would cause my caliper to move back and forth as if the rotor was warped but it isnt?

Well, most of the stuff I can think of is already mention, but heres a fw more things. First of all, is your frame bent? I don't think it cause all of the stuff thats happening, but it would screw up the tires and could cause extra stress to the bearings and such. Also, have you checked your suspention componenets? A loose or brocken suspention part might allow excess movement of the wheel. After my mom ran my 626 off the road several years back, the people at the body shop didn't tighten down one of the shocks and it was doing weird stuff.
What does the car drive like normally? Is there a constant vibration or any other noise besides the clicking?
