Is it worth it to replace with used rocker panels?

There is a beautiful 91 NA in the U-Pull it lot. There is not the faintest hint of cancer anywhere. My 7 on the other hand has severe cancer on both rocker panels and quarters. So I was thinking maybe I would go back with my cordless saw and cut them out a little bigger than what I need and trim them up to fit when i weld them into my car.
I am knowledgeable about auto body, so I know what I'm getting int. but the body shop quoted me $4500 for just the rear of the car. In quarter panel is nothing more than minor dings.
I just want to know if you guys thing it is worth the trouble to install used body panels that requirer more skill to install.
Plus I'm sure it will not be as easy as I hope in cutting out from the donor car. However, I could get the quarter panel and rocker panels as one piece. (Less work in the end I hope.)
What do you think?

how bad is the cancer? id say treat it, lay some fiberglass patching/body filler.. then just slap a bodykit or sideskirt over it.. its just a fc rx7, not as valuable as say a more collective car.

Why not buy the "beautiful" body and build it up with your parts?

The cool thing about that suggestion is that you could carefully strip off all the trim, interior, etc., from the '91 body and take the time to get the paint perfect on it while still getting to drive your current car. Then when you're ready, you can swap over the parts from your existing car.

Not to mention that if your car has obvious cancer in the rockers and quarter panels, it is probably lurking in plenty of other places and just waiting to show up, like the floor seams and frame rails.

I already have three, down from five.
I like this car because it doesn't have a sunroof to keep the weight down, Manual everything. I have done too much to this car, and my wife whole heartedly agrees that we don't need another 7.
I had thought about just patching it with fiber and wide body kit. That will run me about $3500 I figure, because I would paint the whole car.

But I guess you guys answered my question. I don't know if it worth it.
Thanks

I'm From Canada..If it isn't Rotting on One part of the car,it is rotting on another!..I agree that you should just find a shell and Swap over Stuff. My reason is that you will always be thinking of that One area of the car Being Bad!..and it's Quite Possible that the car would be Not as Safe as the Shell that you get..I'm all for safety. If the Car is rotten,Replace it.There should be Tons of Shells around,as you know that the RX7 is not the Easiest car to Diagnose, and some guys buy the Car and forget to Maintain it.So it ends up another Person's Project!.You can find a Car with a Blown engine and Be on the road,Sell what you don't need and Maybe,JUST Maybe,Break EVEN in your Venture..That would be a hell of alot better than Spending Good money on a Crappy Body, and not be able to Drive the car to MAX,because the Integrity of the car would be Questionable..anyhow,Good luck.
