Worth re-using lower control arm?

Would it be worth pressing the old bearing out of the lower A-arm and installing an aftermarket one along with the bushings and re-installing them? All that vs. a new oem arm. Or at all. I would assume that a 22-year-old control arm would be a little sloppy...

Yes it is worth it, LCA's are expensive. Throw some engery suspension poly bushings in it and bolt on two new ball joints and enjoy.

its not a BMW, on an S4 once you have the bushings and ball joints out, its just a piece of aluminum.

consider this: a new front hub is like $500 (per side) and a lower control is about $500 (per side)

but you can do the bearings for about $60 (per side), ball joints can be found for about $30 (per side), and even a complete poly bushing kit for the whole car is just over $100.

it will be a bit more work to do the bearing/balljoints/bushing option, but it's a job you can do in a weekend if you're organized. i did this smae job last winter to my fc, plus i replaced the rear subframe mounts, all the rear diff mounts, eliminated the DTSS, and add a pinion snubber over the course of one weekend.

Where are you guys finding cheap lower ball joints? They are $70 each on mazdatrix and not much cheaper elsewhere.

Well... Airplane-style forged aluminum anyway.

Those A-arms are going to probably outlast the car..
