is it worth making your own block off plates for egr and acv?

i have an 88TII and want to block off egr/acv. has anybody made there own (where did you get the stuff and what did you do exactly)? or is it better just to buy em already done (where did you get em from)?

Don't buy them! I made mine out of 1/8" Alum. I have at work. It takes about 15mins to make one and its sure alot better than spending $10 each for them.

Oh yeah.. I found an old broken CD-ROM drive, and cut up the housing with a dremel tool, and used a bench grinder to smooth the edges down... It's not even 1/8", i bet.. Maybe 1/16... real thin, but since it's steel, it's pretty strong.. I cut up one of those sheet-gaskets to match it, and blocked off my BAC, EGR, and ACV. If you're worried about leaks, a bit of gasket-maker helps..

I had purchased the EGR block off plate and the ACV plate came with my RB header although I'm not using It right now.
