Is it worth going with an FD UIM?
Hey guys, just looking for some opinions...
Hear me out.. I'm NOT asking about the FD UIM's pro's and con's.. so don't tell me to search plz..
i'm more asking application specific here..
I've got a stock S5 motor with a hybrid Stage 3 or 4 strapped to the side of it...
just purchased a PFC and commander for the car (bye bye AFM)
I've also got the old school Trust Front mount
I've got spare UIM/TB/TPS's from my FD projects...
do you think it would be worth it to adapt the FD UIM to my FC with stock ports and a small turbo like this?
the thing that worries me the most will be the intercoolers piping route...
going from the FD compression tube.. back across to the other side without a)looking like *** b) killing the flow...
parts wise i pretty much got everything except the UIM adapter piece...
I was thinking.. since i'm using an FD PFC anyway... perhaps it would run better/happier with an FD UIM as well... AIT will be in stock position, TPS will be original one, etc etc..
what do u guys think? buy the adapter, slap the intake and Fab up new pipes to try and work with the FD intake?
not worth the effort, stick with the S5 UIM and let it stay pretty as it is... and just enjoy the PFC
