Question Is it worth going to 3mm apex seals?

Since I'm about to get a junk yard engine, I would like to replace the apex seals. Is it worth paying the $325 to get the 2 rotors milled to support 3mm? The engine wont see crazy driving, although I would like it to run low 13's in the quarter with just the addition of more boost/fuel.

I wouldn't. 3mm seals don't seal as well, and they really aren't going to save your ***. Their only real plus is that they are a **** hair more resistant to detonation.

IMHO good 2mm seals are just tough as 3mm seals. Id say skip the extra cost.

Stock 2mm support a 200 shot of nitrous on a turbo rotary on 94 octane, with ign. retard. The only reason to go 3mm is if your seal seats are chipped or worn, etc.

They create higher levels of friction in the engine, and thus wear out more quickly.
