Worth the effort to remove the design or not?
I just bought this car. Its a 86 GXL, everything works, A/C and all. It had the blue design on each side when I bought it, and I wouldn't have picked it myself, but since its hard to find RX-7s around here to begin with, I don't mind the design. Its not on the top of my priority list to have it removed, but my wife hates it. So what to you guys think? Is it worth the effort to remove it or should I just leave it there?

Looks kinda femenine but so does the RX-7, like a sexy woman. So what does your wife have against it?
If I saw that thing I would guess that a girl owned it, but congrats on finding a sweet GXL man! All that matters is that your FC is healthy and treating you right.

You guys are harsh. I don't know what she doesn't like about it. I don't think she knows either, but she doesn't like it. She likes the car, she said she like the 2nd Gen better than the 1st gen, but the first thing she asked me when I got it was if I was going to take the blue stuff off. Ever since then, she has been hinting that she didn't like it. I dont' mind it. I wouldn't have chosen it, but I didn't think it looked like a girl owned the car.....(silently questioning manhood staus)

sure the decal is kinda stupid, but oh well not bad enough to scream out "I HATE IT!"
btw - cars and women are alike.. both better looking without the bra..

all you have to do is heat it up with a hair dryer prefferbly on a sunny warm day. Then get xenit at any autoparts store and it spays away any sticky residue left over then make sure you wax it to protect the exposed paint. Don't wait too long casue the paint ourside the decal will still weather but the paint underneath wont. So you might havea sade darker where the decal used to be.
yeah i like originality..but i think id take it off...maybe check a small spot first...depending on how long thats been on there..might be some paint fading..which would leave that design even after you remove it....but i wouldnt think it should be too bad.....nothing a little buffing wouldnt clean up.
