Work, Ran Out Of Gas, No Work

I had a problem starting my car after rebuilding the engine turns out it was electrical had it running great for a week then i ran out of gas. =/

Now there is no spark and no fuel. I checked the fuses and tried different coils everything is fine. The only thing thats differented is the ECU is getting really hot now I tried switching ECU's same deal. Think it might be a short.

What tools would i use to check ground and to find a short is it a pain in the *** anything it could be other than short tried CAS too.

The main ECU ground I think is the dual black wires that comes off the harness

****, i guess try to check the harness throughout to see if maybe you kinked or frayed a wire slightly when you put the engine in and its now grounding out.

You'll need a voltmeter to check current. The rx7 wiring diagrams posted elsewhere on this site may help, too.

Remove the ground on the battery and place a test light on the ground wire and put the other end on the neg post of the battery and see if it lights up, you have a short in the system somewhere.
