woohoo, stereo ++ oil pressure gauge working!

So I had to fab some sort of wire connection on the oil pressure sensor. The tab (?) where it appears a spade connector could slide on(according to the fsm) is missing, and all I have is this stubby round thingie on the sensor. I wrapped a wire around it and hooked it up to the yellow/red wire and added the 47uF 250v capacitator parralell and viola! Awesome, first time that has worked since two years ago.

EDIT: thanks icemark for the capacitator identification and type

One question, I have a thermal pellet installed, and the oil pressure is pretty constant at 1/2 the gauge. This is normal? It moves up and down a bit, but hardly any.

BTW: Dan Atkins, the the washer and o-ring came in today(monday) usps. That beat mazdatrix by about 4 days easy. thanks! I'll install them tomorrow and seal that front pulley leak

And last thing...

I installed a stereo with a DSP today. HOLY CRAP, and I didn't think Rx-7s could have any accoustic credibility. I spent five hours though, wiring everything including a new ignition switch for the stereo. I used 10ga on everything, overkill sure. I never thought those rear strut towers could have good sounding accoustics. That DSP really does make a difference!

BTW, I should have taken pictures, but I used (i believe 5.25") speakers in the back. I wanted a box to put them in instead of using a template. I got two butter containers (you know, the mooo-ver over kind, or the betty crocker... whatever is onhand.)... Stuffed a towel inside the bucket, stuffed the speaker in, and taped it shut to ensure a seal. Then I wrapped the bucket in two dishtowels... and stuffed the whole assembly in the rear-strut tower.

CHEAP BUT EFFECTIVE.

Sounds incredibly good, and the speakers can't bounce around in the strut towers.

Haha.... ahh master-rigga

Night all
