Cool Woohoo got my baby today!

I just picked it up an 88 anniversary edition. Body is in perfect shape, needs a paint job, and engine rebuild. I payed $1850 for it. Everything works, all lights, all gauges, new tires, turbo is in great shape. I am happier than a pig in ****! I am keeping my 87 N/A as my daily driver. I plan on making a “street legal” racecar out of this TII. I picked up a digital camera and plan on photo documenting everything! I plan to start the engine tear down tomorrow. This is my pet project I am thinking about 6 months to complete I am spearing NO expense and cutting no corners.

There is going to be very little stock equipment under the hood on this when I finish up, so if anyone has a need for some of the common changeable stock parts on this car I will make you a great deal. Also I am looking to get rid of the original 10 anny. Wheels.

Couple of things I am looking for is black leather seats and a left side mirror

OH YEAH!!!!!!!

As it's a 10th AE just promise us you won't cut her and you save everything you take off Don't sell the wheels or ANYTHING please - keep em

Oh yeah - when you get her on the road don't take sharp corners in 2nd at WOT - or you'll do a 360

SHE'S A TORQE MACHINE!!!

Left side - passengers or drivers? I have a space white TII side mirror.

Congrats! Did you by chance pick up that car in OR? There was one for sale on autotrader with those same problems for that similar price.

Have fun with it either way. I'd cream myself repeatedly if I'd just bought a 10th AE.

More 10AE's!!! I love mine! Getting ready to get rid of the cat's, as soon as I check my fuel to make sure all is A-OK.

Haha, sure enough I bought it in Oregon, picked it up today. And I found it in the AutoTrader. thats the one 7+ hr. trip to get it, but worth every mile! Ya, im not going to do any cutting on it. But I am going to add some gauges, my own stereo system, and sorry all I am going to paint it black (needs a paint job anyways) and those white rims will just not go with a black on black car. Other than that nothing but engine Mods. nothing entirely crazy.

I am thinking stage one port, 3mm seals, good downpipe, remove all cats (once I smog it) lightweight flywheel, K & N Air intake system, Better Oil relief valve, Getting the stock turbo modified (gotta pass visual in CA) Manual boost control, Upgraded fuel pump and I think thats all thats on the list for now. I plan on keeping this car forever. But I am being talked into holding on to all the stock stuff. I prolly will. Can anyone recomend a place to get the seats redone? Prefably in CA.

I wanted to go really crazy on the engine of this car, but im thinking better of it. I live in CA so i gotta pass visual, and smell smog test from the people I have talked to thats really going to hinder what I wanted to do. But it should still be really quick when im done.

I will keep you all posted on the progress, and I am sure I will post alot of pics.

I CANT WAIT!

Ahh BTW: the mirror is drivers side but its electronicly controled color is not important. condition is however.

Get a standard T2 if you want to do that.

being that you are in CA, Im sure you can find a beat up T2 for cheap.

AE's are just too rare to paint, rip the wheels off and modify the hell outta them.

please keep your AE a virgin. If you heavily modify it, you lose a lot of the exclusivity and respect of owning a 10AE.

I'd like to get in the "Interested in the Wheel's" line before it get's too long.

If you just decide to ebay them, let us know when you list them.

(I have a white 91 convertible that they would look good on, if you do go ahead and paint)

although I'd also like to see it kept original, even if that did mean the wheels were'nt available <g>.....

I knew it! Congrats on the purchase! I'm glad to see that the car went to an enthusiast instead of some average person. I wanted to pick it up for myself...just unfortunately don't have the money.
