Unhappy wont start afterSAFC install need helo fast

i installed my S-AFC a week ago but never started the car, i just turned the key to see if the AFC would light up, i went to start it today and it staretd up but died a few seconds later, now when i go to start it turns over runs for a second and dies, does anyone know what i may have done wrong, the safc seems to be functioning properly, it showed throttle outputs, and it also showed my rpm when it initially bstarted, what could be wrong???

i need the car in 3 days and i have little time to work on it, even when i unplug the safc it wont start.....what should i do??

Why don't you put everything back to stock and see if it'll start again?

Mine did this once as well, I never did figure out what caused it, however since re-checking and making sure all the connections are on properly it has not done it again. That's the first thing I would do, check and re-check all the connections, then check to make sure all the settings in the S-AFC are correct, I accidently set it to the hot wire setting and it died as soon as I touched the gas. Next thing to do is what Ted suggested, put it back to normal and see if the problem is still there. You can't just unplug the S-AFC cause then you have no signal going to the ECU from the AFM, you have to actually re-attach the wires.

when your done reconecting the wires go ahead and take off the negative battery cable for an hour and tap or hold the gas pedal for 15seconds or so. This will recet the ecu. Car might run funny for a minute but just warm it up and the ecu will adjust. Fixed someones elses problem , but wasnt the same case. Wont hurt though

Me too

I just bored out my intake manifold and put everything back together and I am having the exact same problem. I think I have narrowed it down to a bad primary injector. I am going to put the bad primary in one of the secondary positions to see if I can get it working.

You have to set the AFM setting to FLAP and on the pre 89 cars it's 05in 05out, on the 89+ cars its 06in 06out. I cant remember the voltages off the top of my head. The throttle voltage should be as close to 1.0 as possible, I dont remeber the AFM voltage, and the third is only if you have your 02 sensor wired in.

Sounds like you caused a vacuum leak or an air leak in the intake tract putting your car back together.

Okay, I'm almost positive I haven't missed any vacuum lines, so do you think it could be a leaky gasket? What is the best way to replace a gasket, to make one or to buy a pre-made one and seal it? The new ones are pre-made ones I got from Mazdatrix, but I had to modify them a little bit to make the holes big enough.
