hey my 90 N/A wont go past 5500 RPm in fourth gear... only in fourth gear as well and when i hit the gas hard it makes and odd noise.... please help me i dont want to ruin my motor.....also used tranny installed 3 weeks ago....

First thing that comes to mind is that your car is severley lacking power if you can't go beyond that. First question:
Does it go beyond 5500rpm in any other gear, such as first?

are your aux ports opening?

 

The S5 has aux ports that open around 3800, and I believe there is another thing that opens at 5500. I have a S4 so I'm not sure what its called, but I had been helping Kenteth work on his S5 from time to time and I saw it on his.

 

Ports do not feel as if they are opening... do they open by exhaust baskpressure in a series 5 or the air pump?.... i feel them open at 6 but never around 3800...
