wiring my aux ports

took off the air pump yesterday and acv and want to wire the aux ports open insted of just taking the sleeves out because it dont want to take the lower intake manifold off (lazy i know) i took off the aux ports and wondering if i can just jb weld the holes or should i just keep the two aux pump things still on

what do you guys think should i quit being lazy and take the sleeves out or put PINEAPPLE RACING 6-Port Sleeve in.

dose this really lower lowendpower

You have an S4, so the air pump has nothing to do with the 6PI system (S5 only). Other than checking to see that they're not stuck, you should leave them alone. Wiring them open has zero advantages, only disadvantages (loss of low-end power).

I think what hes asking is if he's gonna notice the loss in low end torque big time. I was lazy like you ozto.. I wanted to just wire the ports open for the reason of not worrying about if they are opening during top end power, but in the end I'd rather have the low end torque and a properly functioning fc. So im cleaning them now, among other things and im gonna do the air pump mod for the ports to open, since my exhaust has no backpressure whatsoever. That'll be the only reason for the air pump, just for the ports. I suggest you do the same, leaving the air pump on isn't a bad thing, you might think you lose power running it, but in reality its not noticable.

Thats ok, your gonna buy new ones for the mod. Its right in the archives and its AWESOME. Although I still am unsure of something, weather using the air pump JUST for the actuators is gonna be too much pressure? the mod is done with the ACV in tact, but if you don't have an ACV and you just pipe up the air pump to the valve, will it blow the valve off under high rpm?

mysteries....

so are you going to have a pipe from the air pump to the back pipe on rear of the lower intake that usto go to the spilt air piping on the main cat and block off the acv and it looks like a previous owner already jb welded one of the holes on each side already.

my exhaust only has the main cat left the split air pipe was taken off and bent along time ago (previous owner) which means that the aux ports arent ever opening. a local rx builder told me that wiring or just taking the sleeves out, that i wouldnt be able to tell the difference with them in or out

For low end rpms you will, this means street driving. When your at the track, you don't need them when your launching at 3500rpm+. At least this is how I understand it from my knowledge...

If you don't have cats, take that ACV off and block it off. Mazdatrix sells the plate for it and its only 6$. They don't sell a gasket for it, but you can EASILY make one for this with a gasket making kit. Feed the air pump into the device that is shown in the archives, its pretty explanitory from there...

ok well my real question is it better to never have them open for a while, when im tring get my car to run properly and when my took my aux. port off one of the air holes on the manifold it looks like it was jb welded and sanded flush with the manifold (or is that the way it is sopost to look from the factory)

Its BEST to have them working, period. Wiring them open, and keeping them closed are neither good alternatives.
