Yes, use the present n/a harness. If you use it the car will start and run just fine. You will not have a signal to the Knock sensor but I suspect you don't have a knock box anyway. I've driven over a year with/without a knock box and have no problems but I'm basic stock on the whole.

The other small problem is you won't have a solenoid for the Twin Scroll. There's two ways to look at that. IF the Twin Scroll has no vac signal, then it is wide open anyway, meaning you will have full boost when you put your foot down. The twin scroll when active allows the turbo to spool up a bit/touch quicker.

Anyway, LATER, after you get the engine in and running, you can add a solenoid (cheap things in the junk yard). The only SMALL trick is to run the wires to it. The wires for the twin scroll will be coming from from pin 2K of the TURBO ECU and they end up at the Split Air Solenoid PLUG on the n/a harness. This plug is located near the water filler neck on the thermostat housing. So all you do is disconnect the plug there........add two new wires one end of each that will plug into that plug and the other end of the two new wires will end at the new/used solenoid you get out of the junk yard. Done as far as the electrical part goes. Then you run a vacuum hose from that new/used solenoid to the vacuum line on the twin scroll actuator on the turbo manifold. The you run a vacuum line to the other nipple on the new/used solenoid and the other end to a vacuum source. Done.

It'll make sense when you do it. Like I said, the engine and turbo will boost fully without it altogether so don't be in a tizzy about doing that part before getting the engine running.

And before you say *I think I'll install a turbo EM harness instead of making those small wiring changes*, give that another thought. IF you use a turbo EM harness, you automatically lose the alternators small two wire plug (on turbo cars it's part of the E harness, unlike the n/a). If you don't make changes to the wires in the turbo harness you also automatically lose the water temp gauge because of the diff in wire routing in the turo vs the n/a harness. And if you don't make changes to the tubo EM harness you will have a incorrect boost signal feed to the ECU plus numerous other faults.

There are archeived threads on putting a turbo engine in a n/a. See archeive.

You NEED to also buy a turbo ECU. Either a N332 or N333 and a TURBO boost sensor and afm. See the word NEED. I care not for what other people use and get by with.. You NEED those items.

ok thanks.. i also downloaded the service manual from someone it seems complete.. mechanical issues i can manage but when i started the wiring part i got dizzy.

series of questions.

1. np with the compter box. but it has a code 403 or 407 i guess. i can choose any of the 2 boxwes. i'll be using a 13b-t not a 13rew its the single turbo from the fc

2. for the air flow meter can i remove it and what do i need to do for me to do that

3. can my current n/a fuel pump support the turbo engine

thanks guys big help i'll be sending photos of my project as well... also have a rebuilt ae86 which i replicated the one in initial d... il send pics as well hope to hear from the tech guys out there
