wiring and electrical gurus plz help!!!
ok now my headlights dont work. they arent burnt and i dont think its a fuse. its been an off and on thing. windows and sunroof are slow. sometimes radio goes on the fritz, and clock doesnt always work. starter wont always work on first key turn. will just get a click until maybe a few tries then it will start. also having burst of power while other times car seems a lil slower than it should be. so im thinking major grounding problems right? ground the **** out of my car, direct lines from the neg post to firewall, driverside strut mount, next to leading sparkplug on block, and a wire to the base of the primary coil. guy before me put the jspec in but didnt seem like the type to be able to do it correctly. so im thinking he missed a few things when installing the engine. what do you guys think? plus harness is a lil worn. car drives and all but extremely rough and rich. like i can smell the fuel big time. sorry for the long post but im so damn frustrated with this car almost makes me what to get rid of it.

It wouldn't be grounding issues as you have described the problems.
Sounds more like you have a bunch of small issues that you are trying to make just one big issue.
For example the starter sounds like a bad or loose starter or bad ignition switch. It could also be related too a bad clutch switch.
The slow windows and sunroof are probably related to corrosion and carbon build up on the switches or dirty tracks.
The radio could be 1 of a thousand things, too bad you didn't use any details of what the problem is...
The clock is probably cold solder joints in the idiot light/clock panel
The headlights could be a bad fuse, bad relay, bad switch, but again not enough details.
And every one of of your problems, with the exception of the radio going on the "fritz"- but if we had more details chances are it too has been covered and there are schematics online for.
You may wish to download the factory service manuals (links can be found in the FAQ at the top of this section) or use the search function found at the top right side of this page to help you find other threads on the same problems.

If you follow the battery ground wire with your eyes and fingers...you'll see it bolted to the chassis about three feet from the battery.....then it goes directly from there to the long bolt that holds the starter on. So there you have it...battery neg to chassis....to motor. Make sure the bolts are tight and the connections clean.
Headlights.....don't come up? or don't light up after they come up? Checked the headlight fuse in the engine bay, right? Do the lights come on when the switch is held to bright (assuming they did not come on normally).?

well guys i know my wiring system is crap but anyways. i just want to get this headlight thing fixed. was wondering if anybody knew what might be the problem or how to check to see what might be the problem. headlight motors work...pop just dont light. checked fuse and relay doesnt look bad. switch in a relay from a s5 into my s4 and still didnt light. but wasnt sure if its the same relay. any ideas on how to narrow it down? please help! lol sucks not driving at night. and my highbeams never worked. maybe headlight switch? and where and how can i check this?

Do you have a digital Multi-meter to start testing and checking things?
Check at the headlight relay there should be voltage at the two red wires all the time.
Also at the head light relay, there should be ground on the White/Blue wire when the head light switch is on.
If there is not 12Volts+ on the the red wires at the relay then the headlight fuse is blown.
If there is Ground on the Wht/blu when the head lights switch is on, there should be 12Volts + on the Red/green wire coming off the head light relay when the switch is on.
If there is not ground on the Wht/Blu when the headlight switch is on, then the the switch is probably bad or you have a broken wire between the switch and the relay.
If there is ground on the Wht/blu when the switch is on and there is 12Volts on the Red wire(s) and there is not 12Volts on the red/grn then the head light relay is bad.
If all the above checks out, but the head light still don't work, the the headlights themselves are bad or you have a bad ground on the black wire at the headlights.
