i came home yesterday from work and my uncle dropped off my aux ports ( he cleaned with glass beader) i installed them and WOW!! i was missin out (revs faster and smoother). so i decided to take it for a spin and wash it while i was out. i couldnt resist revving it at the car wash and this guy comes over and starts talking to me. then right out says " but my car is faster" and goes on about his CRX is like the "fastest car in the world" and talks about his b16 motor swap, and pops the hood and all i see was a aluminum valve cover ( i dont know much about Hondas ) and i asked him " dont b series engines have like 2 cams?" he said yeah it does " but yours only has one" then he goes on saying that his car is still faster. and now he wants to race from a roll and i'm not to sure about that. but i think it he's pissed cuz i made him look like an azz in front of his friends. so i told him "we'll see ". so I was just wondering if i could take him. he has the regular mods i/h/e claiming motor swap. and mine is stock. so what do u think are my chances???

I think you would kill him from a stop so long as you didnt spin the tires and got good traction any other aspect you should murder him aswell

 

race him from a dig, if he gots a b16 hope he cant launch cuz 2000lbs with a 135-145hp can really move

 

Se-r Vspecs can really move 1st and 2nd.... ( 43 mph....) but once it hits 3rd and 4th the thing is a slug if its stock.... it has no ***** once it hits 60mph

 

If he has a d16 youll slaughter him. Which it sounds like he does.

 

well you said it was SOHC, so you should take him, even though I've seen guys pull low 15's with the d16 in a crx.

 

I don't know... I think it'll be close. those cars are so damn light it doesn't take much to get them pretty quick.

SER Spec-V is nothing, Nothing at all, the LSD they have gives them a good chance off the line, but if you got the right model you might have a LSD too, then its on, and as long as you dont plan on running a 15.9 the SER will lose.....A SER with Headers, Intake, and A test pipe runs 15.9......

 

The last two times i went to the track there were a few CRXs there. One guy i think was completly stock, the other guy had a lot of **** done, 3rd guy i have no idea, but i raped all 3 really bad. It prolly had a lot to do with the drivers sucking really bad but, most CRX drivers do. MY vote is you'll hand him his ***.

 

 

You should definitely beat him from a roll. I don't know about you, but my car is kind of slow from a dead stop, but off a roll i'm not too shabby. Maybe that's because I suck a takeoff's but you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Might as well put him in his place.

My 88 Integra has a B16 and it is a great engine but only worth 110 hp at 6000 rpm, and really only pulls at all from 4000 up. Unless he has some serious porting and cam work, even on a 2000 pound car that is not much. Of course, I am gauging this by the goals of my finished FC . . . 2400 lbs and 200 at the crank . . .

 

really only 110 hp he was tellin me like 170 hp or was that in rice hp. lol. damn thats what got me was the 170.so i guess i have nothing to worry about then. hmmm what am i doing tonite?

 

yeah he is incorperating his stickers / short throw shifter / white face gauges into that 170 number.

The Spec V SE-r's aren't that bad. It's been a while but I know they're quick. They have 170ish HP

I knew a guy witha b20 in a CRX he pulled 14.4's all motor while his friend in a Civic Hatch pulls 12.2's on 6pounds with some engine.

I say race him. RWD almost always has the advantage over FWD off the line. Besides we have an engine that isn't shy of high revs. That can help cause shifting is where you can win/lose.

 

Ok if its a crx with a B16 Jdm motor (wich its not if it's not DOHC) it out of a jdm civic sir. those motors are rated at 160hp at the crank, I'm guessing thats about 130hp to the wheels. Even with full exhaust and intake thats only about 140hp to the wheels maybe. Now this sounds like nothing but that is where the lightness factor comes in. I have done a few of these swaps into crx's and with the right driver it is possible to run high 13's. A customer of mine ran a 13.8 at I think 110mph with a b16 intake and exhaust, then again it was on drag radials and he is a good driver with a 1.8 60'.

Now if this car does have a b16 wich I don't think it does, I recomend racing him from a stop. Those motor's make almost no power below 5500rpm's when vtec kicks in wich means from a stop it will most likley light them up or fall on its face. Good luck with it, it should be a good race. And if he wins sell your car and buy a turboII and make sure his honda HO is in the car when you leave him wondering WTF just happened.
