wire removal

I am about to remove my engine this weekend or the next, i have removed all of the a/c components, power steering crap and a bunch of the other usless stuff. i have a few questions about some things
1. what is the dial on the passenger side engine bay that says pressure sensor (does it go to the A/C? do i need it?)
2. i cannot get the damn heater blower out, ive taken a crowbar to it and still no luck, i have removed three big bolts from the housing but still doesnt want to come free, anybody have any luck with this? i dont want to tear up my dashboard.
3. i am removing all of the wires i do not need (heater, a/c, power steering, hot start assist, sub zero stuff, and the heater a/c conroler. does somebody have a chart of what to pull, if not what manual is the most reliable to buy or most graphic, haynes or what?

thanks

don't know the answer to most of your questions, but the pressure sensor is important. it should have a vaccuum line leading somewhere into your itake system. nothing to do with the a/c.

-----Crowbar??? Did you make sure nothing on the outside is connected? Mine came out just fine but make sure it is not connected to the sides or top by anything. If all of the vents are off it should come off.

ok, i re-read your post, it says blower unit...

i have this removed, i took pictures just now, but my camera sucks *** - bad.

looking at this thing, there are three places this thing gets bolted to the chassis.
2 lower, 1 upper right.

there is an electrical female connector on the left side, from the looks of it it controls the flap inside.

then theres the power connector for the fan in the front, it is also female.

ill post the pictures.

The name, and the fact that it has a vac line connecting it to the manifold, should be all the clues you need. If not, look in the FSM. Do not remove it.

The blower housing is only held in by three nuts. When I undid those it practically fell out. There's a pic on page U-30 of the S5 FSM Heating & Air Conditioning chapter which shows the nuts you need to undo.

You don't need a manual to do this. You just unwrap the parts of the wiring loom that has the wires you wanto remove, trace them back as far as you can, and cut them out. If you still want something to look at, look in the FSM wiring diagrams.

i think i know whats holding you up... the blower unit is mated to the ac box under the dash with a metal strap the surrounds the outlet duct lips on both units.

definately would make it easier to remove the dash... i have a totaly gutted interior, no radio, ps, ac (both coils), heater, ducts, carpet, tar, door panels, glove box, shifter boot and cover, passenger seat, VIN# (it was rivited to a piece of plastic)

its a ton faster, not sure about times, but i can launch like a ****.

Chris,
What are you looking at??? Under the dash above the area where the ECU is??? There are three 10mm nuts that loosen that blower. You need to try to find the three 10mm and put back what you already took off. Get your girl out there to asses the situation and give you some better direction

I am mostly joking. ^^ all in good fun. The 10mm thing was not a joke

Yeah I forgot to meantion that. It doesn't hold very tight though, so I doubt that's what's hold it in. It just needs to be loosened and slip back towards the AC evaporator.

definately would make it easier to remove the dash...
Just to pull the blower? Hell no...

I had to put mine back in today so I am remembering much better. There are two 10mm nuts on the firewall and one up under the dash almost all the way to the side wall. Take the front plate off that is covering it. It comes off with 5 screws. Your speaker should be hooked to that plate once its off you can see all the connections and screws very easily.
