wire question

ok i wanted to know about our cars wire harnesses. did they all come the same no matter what car? mine is a base model, with no electrical extras. yet if i pop open my coin tray under it are connections for the power mirrors and alarm which i dont have either of.

And if you open the door and look at the frame theres a rubber tube that goes into the door to protect the wires for the nonexistant electrical items. now if you feal that tube there are lots of wires going through it. so what does that mean? was my car not a base model but a car that was used for parts and made to run and be sold? it runs perfect with no problems and perfect compression.

Or am i right and they did all have the same harness. The reason for asking is because i want the hatch with the rear wiper. i know i need the switch and obviously the hatch....but do i need the wiring or will that be in the roof or some place else already?

thanks for the help,

dave

One type of harness set for NA's, one harness set for TII's. A harness set is made up of a few harnesses. Some harnesses are common to TII and NA (i.e. except engine, front, etc.). Wiring should be there and ready for Hatch Wiper, Cruise, etc.

Remember you would need to change the strut to have the wiring for the rear wiper as well, since base models and models without rear wipers do not have the strut with the wires.
